Marianne de Trey
Marianne de Trey CBE (3 November 1913 – 18 October 2016) was a pioneering British studio potter whose work had a significant impact on the craft's post World War ll revival.[1]
De Trey was born in London to Swiss parents, Emma (née Lehmann) and Auguste de Trey. She graduated from the Royal College of Art London in 1936. A founder member of the Craft Potters Association, she ran a successful pottery at Dartington in Devon for more than 30 years.[2] She was made a CBE for services to the arts in the 2006 New Year Honours.[3]
