Marion Kettlewell

Dame Marion Mildred Kettlewell DBE (20 February 1914 – 11 April 2016) became a Wren in 1939 when World War II started[1][2] and was the director of the service from 1967 to 1970.[1][2] She was born in Strawberry Hill, London.
