Mark Russell (born 1971) is an American author and cartoonist best known for works of religious satire.

Russell is the author of God Is Disappointed in You (Top Shelf Productions, 2013), a modern re-telling of the Bible (with cartoons by New Yorker cartoonist Shannon Wheeler). A similar book is in the works about non-canonical Jewish and Christian texts (again in collaboration with Wheeler) called Apocrypha Now (Top Shelf/IDW, 2016). Mark Russell is also writing a reboot of the 1973 DC comic book series Prez, drawn by Ben Caldwell which begins publication in June, 2015. Starting in 2014, Mark Russell began publishing his cartoon strip "Eaglesport" at NailedMagazine.com.
