Marko Mihojević (Serbo-Croatian pronunciation: [mâːrko mixǒːjeʋitɕ]; born 21 April 1996) is a Bosnian professional footballer who plays as a centre back for Superleague Greece club OFI, on loan from PAOK, and the Bosnia and Herzegovina national team.

Club career

Early career

Mihojević started his career with his hometown club Leotar.[2] He made his professional debut against GOŠK Gabela on 6 October 2012, at the age of 16.[3]

In February 2014, he joined youth academy of Sarajevo, and in July of the same year, he signed a four-year contract with the team.[4] He had to wait until game against Zvijezda Gradačac on 28 February 2015 to make an official debut for the club.[5] Mihojević scored his first professional goal in a cup game against Kozara Gradiška.[6]

Mihojević was made club captain in June 2017.[7]

PAOK

On 31 January 2018, Mihojević signed with Superleague Greece side PAOK until December 2020 for an undisclosed transfer fee, estimated in the region of €700,000.[8] He debuted over three months later, on 5 May, in a league triumph over Platanias.[9] Mihojević won his first trophy with the club when PAOK beat AEK Athens in Greek Cup final.[10]

In order to get more minutes, Mihojević was loaned to OFI in August 2018.[11]

International career

Mihojević represented Bosnia and Herzegovina on all youth levels.[12]

He received first senior call-up for friendly games against United States and Mexico in January 2018.[13] His debut came in a goalless draw against United States on 28 January.[14]
