Martin de Telleria (XVII century) was a Basque nobleman, military commander, navigator.[1] Captain of Buenos Aires during the Viceroyalty of Peru.[2]
Biography
Martin de Telleria was born in Guipúzcoa, he had departed from the port of San Sebastián in July 1659, bound for Buenos Aires. The crew had arrived at the port of the city in 1660, aboard the Ship "Nuestra Señora de Aranzazu".[3] Telleria had been authorized by the King of Spain, to lead arms, ammunition and two companies of infantry to reinforce the fort of Buenos Aires.[4]
