The Mary District Library is located in Mary. Regional library of Turkmenistan, the largest in Mary District.[1]

History

Construction began in February 2010. The library building was constructed by Turlish company Sedaş Inşaat[2] in 2011 and located in the immediate vicinity of the Palace Ruhyet and the head of the mosque of Mary District. The cost of the building - $36.4 million.[3] October 20, 2011 with the participation of President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov held the official opening ceremony.[4]

Building

The building has a spherical shape, it is supported by columns 62. The height of the library is 42 meters. The three-storey building is designed for storage of three million books and visit the 600 readers. In the library includes: library, book shop, nine reading rooms, internet facilities, a separate reading room for the elders, office of special departments, conference rooms, children's room. Under the dome of the library, which is in the form of a tulip petals, placed a powerful telescope. The library is more than three million volumes.[5]
