'Mat Hames (born July 27, 1971) is an Emmy Winning American independent filmmaker known for his documentaries When I Rise, What Was Ours, Last Best Hope, Fighting Goliath, and for his documentaries for Rooster Teeth RTDocs Series includingThe Meme Machine, World's Greatest Head Massage,The Tattooist, and Connected. Two of his documentaries have been included in the Emmy Award winning U.S. PBS series Independent Lens, and one on SundanceTV. He is a principal of Austin documentary production company Alpheus Media. In addition to productions for PBS, SundanceTV, and Rooster Teeth, Alpheus Media, Inc. has created films for non-profits, healthcare organizations, Global NGOs, and social cause clients. A portion of their interviews with more than 250 cancer survivors appear on the Livestrong web site, and in a best selling book, Live Strong (ISBN 0767921380).
