May City, Iowa is an unincorporated town in Osceola County, Iowa, United States.

Demographics

The population is 43 people according to the 2000 United States Census.[1]

History

The town was created in 1889. There is a Lutheran church that is called St. John's Lutheran Church. There is also a fire department in the town that is named "The May City Fire Department." The 125th Anniversary of the town was on July 19, 2014. The current mayor is Jesse Castillo. (Castillo is an Amateur Radio operator and SKYWARN storm spotter, K0WKT). The vice mayor is Seth Morphew. Elections were held on February 1st, 2016. Castillo/Morphew won the election by a landslide. The city hall is located on Albert Street.

Education

May City is served by the Hartley-Melvin-Sanborn School District.
