The first freestanding heart hospital in the nation, McAllen Heart Hospital was designed specifically to provide an excellent and efficient setting for the diagnosis and treatment of cardiovascular disease. The hospital provides comprehensive inpatient and outpatient cardiac care, a 24-hour Emergency Center, General and Weight Loss Surgery programs.[1]

Services

Acute care and surgical hospital providing healthcare to the residents of Aiken and surrounding South Carolina communities. Specialized Cancer Care Institute of Carolina is located at Aiken Regional as well as a Women's LifeCare Center and the Aurora Pavilion for Behavioral Health Services.

Emergency medicine

The 60-bed hospital provides comprehensive inpatient and outpatient cardiac care, a 24-hour Emergency Center, and general and weight loss surgery. Advanced imaging technology, such as the Optical Coherence Tomography, can detect arterial plaque early and help prevent heart attacks, and the outpatient congestive heart failure program targets keeping patients on the road to success.

Affiliation

McAllen Heart Hospital is owned and operated by a subsidiary of Universal Health Services, Inc. (UHS), a King of Prussia, PA-based company, that is one of the largest healthcare management companies in the nation.

Awards and Accolades

  • Received full Cycle II Chest Pain Center Accreditation with PCI (Percutaneous Coronary Interventions) from the Society of Chest Pain Centers Accreditation Review Committee in March 2009.[2]
  • Certified as a disease specific care Primary Stroke Center and certified as a Center of Excellence for Bariatric Surgery.[3]
