Meleka (born c. 1989) is a singer/songwriter who first came to public attention after winning the annual talent competition HUGO Urban Rules, where she performed for music industry experts and stars Estelle and ex-Mystique singer Sabrina Washington. In November 2014 Meleka signed a publishing deal with Ultra Music.

Biography

Predominately known for her R&B song 'Go,' which also featured rapper Tinie Tempah, Meleka has also appeared on the track "Scars" by Basement Jaxx, which also featured UK rapper Chipmunk and American singer Kelis.

Meleka has since also collaborated with "Wiley" and Riton on "Inside My Head".

She released a seven-track throwback project entitled The Funkin' 90s with covers of 90's R&B songs such as "Can We Talk" by Tevin Campbell and "Are You That Somebody" by Aaliyah in December 2014.

Meleka has recently been working on new material, set for release in 2016. She has been collaborating with artists such as Snakehips, Bearcubs and Digital Farm Animals as well as songwriter Ian Dench, 90's Band EMF (song writer credits include "Beautiful Liar" for Beyoncé and "Shakira" and "Tattoo" Jordin Sparks). Since the beginning of 2015 Meleka has been working closely with songwriter Bully Songs, with whom she has written several songs which will feature her vocals and be released in 2016.
