The Meteor goldfish is a strange-looking variety that has been developed by specialist breeders of fancy goldfish. It has no tail fin or tail.[1][2][3] Its other fins are elongated, and it can swim surprisingly well despite having no caudal fin.[4]

Because no photographs of the breed appear to exist, the Bristol Aquarists' Society has suggested that the meteor goldfish may simply be a rumor.[2] It has been speculated to be related to the Egg-fish.[5]
