Michelle Cuevas is a children's book author. Her first novel, The Masterwork of a Painting Elephant[1] was published by Farrar Straus and Giroux[2] in 2011. The book has been translated into German,[3] Hebrew, Thai and Chinese.[4] Her next two books, The Uncorker of Ocean Bottles and The Ornithologist's Dream will be released by Penguin Books[5] in 2013.

Cuevas holds a degree in English from Williams College, and a MFA from University of Virginia. She was born in Lee, Massachusetts.[6]
