Overview

Mind Quiz: Exercise Your Brain is a trivia game for the PSP, similar to its DS counterpart, Mind Quiz: Your Brain Coach

The game offers over 40 training games,[1] each being separated into 4 Brain Training categories;

1. Calculation

2. Reflex

3. Judgement

4. Memory

Calculation

Tests the player's ability to apply their mathematics skills.

Reflex

Displays problems that mostly require the player to rapidly press the buttons.

Judgement

Examines how well the player can apply their decision-making and thinking skills.

Memory

Tests the player's ability to memorize certain numbers, shapes, and the like.

Unlock Question

When a certain game/difficulty is played for the first time, the player can choose which question to be made available. Press the circle button to decide and the circle button again to confirm. Use the directional buttons to select a question.

Menu Controls

Use the circle button to confirm/select, and the X button to decline. The triangle and square buttons are used exclusively in Training.

Grading System

Grades in Mind Quiz range from A+ to E,[2] each being associated with a different level of performance.

A+

The highest grading possible.[3]

A

The next-highest grading.[4]

B - B+

An above-average performance. Results in praise.[5]

C - C+

An average work. May result in mediocrity comment.[6]

D - D+

A below-average performance.[7]

E+

The second-to-lowest grading.[8]

E

The lowest possible grade.[9]

Rate in %

Indicates the percentage of questions you answered correctly.[10]

Datafile

Measure your performance in each of the five areas.[11]

Save/Delete

Allows you to save or delete your data.

Brain Age Test

Tests your Brain Age with four mini-examinations.[12]

Training

Select from four different categories, then select a game, difficulty, and number of questions.[13]

Challenge

Travel the world by solving various types of questions.[14]

Exams

Take any one of five different exams testing in all four Mind Quiz fields.[15]

Galleries

View two different galleries: one containing animal pictures, and one containing Brain Trainer Awards.[16]

Network

Accessible from the Main Menu, this function requires two PSP systems with the Mind Quiz: Exercise Your Brain UMD inside, and with the WLAN switch on.[17][18][19] One player selects "Player Search" and is the host. The other player selects "Participate" and is the recipient. Once a connection is established, the players prepare and start competing. Each player is given a set number of questions. Whoever gets all questions first wins.

Gameplay

After you enter the Training Mode, you will prepare and be asked your first question. Press the button that corresponds to the correct answer. When the game is finished, a report card will show, containing your time, Rate %, and Letter Grade, along with a comment from your teacher.

Reception

The game had generally favorable reviews. For example, the game averaged 75.3 on Metacritic.[20]
