The Ministry of Education was a central government department in the United Kingdom responsible for education policy in England and Wales.

The Ministry of Education was created by the Education Act 1944 and based on the Board of Education, which had been created in 1899. It was replaced by the Department of Education and Science in 1964 when it was merged with the Ministry of Science.
