Mirela Barbălată (-Hübner) (b. October 23, 1967[2]) is a retired Romanian artistic gymnast. In 1983 she won the silver medal with the team at the 1983 World Championships. At the same competition she scored a perfect ten on vault and she had the highest qualifying score for the vault final.[3] However, she did not compete in the vault finals. The Romanian vault finalists were Lavinia Agache and Ecaterina Szabo who won the silver and the bronze medal, respectively. After retirement from artistic gymnastics Mirela emigrated in Germany where she married the German marathoner Christian Hübner. Together with her husband she is competing in marathon competitions.[4]
