In 2014, all the dairy majors of the country along with Indian Dairy Association had resolved to observe November 26 as National Milk Day in the memory of Verghese Kurien, the doyen of co-operatives.[1][2]

The Gujarat Cooperative Milk Marketing Federation (GCMMF), which markets the Amul brand of milk and dairy products, on 26 November 2016, celebrated the National Milk Day in the memory of Kurien on his 95th birth anniversary.[3]
