Nelson "Teenage" Dladla (born 10 June 1954)[1] is a retired South Africann football (soccer) midfielder who played for Pilkington Young Brothers and most notably Kaizer Chiefs. During his spell at Kaizer Chiefs he wore the legendary number 11. After retiring he also worked as a manager for his former club.

Youth Career

As a teenager he attended Tlakula High School in Kwa-Thema, a township east of Johannesburg and he played for a local footbal club called Pilkington United Brothers, commonly known as PUBS. [2]

Recruitment

On 10 August 1976, Ewert Nene went to Kwa-Thema to negotiate a transfer at the Dladla household. The transfer was successful, he crammed Dladla into his Chevrolet Impala and covered him with blanket so he could not be identified, but a group of people found out. Ewert Nene was stabbed to death after a heated argument between the mob and Nene, Kaizer Chiefs players.[3]
