The New South Wales Mounted Rifles was a cavalry regiment of the colonial forces of New South Wales.
History
The New South Wales Mounted Rifles were formed at Victoria Barracks, Sydney in September 1888.[1] A squadron of cavalry and company of mounted infantry of the regiment served in the Second Boer War in 1899, before they were amalgamated into the 1st New South Wales Mounted Rifles, as A and E squadrons respectively.[2]
