Nicholas Anthony Porter (born 20 October 1969) is Founder and Executive Chairman of Global Student Accommodation.[1]
Porter was born in Bristol, UK. He attended Clifton College, Bristol, and is an alumnus of Harvard Business School.
Porter founded The UNITE Group in 1991.[2] UNITE was the pioneer of the student accommodation sector and as CEO Nick grew UNITE Group into both a FTSE 250 company, building and operating 40,000 student rooms across 35 university markets in the UK.[3]
Porter stepped down as CEO of UNITE in 2006, but stayed on as non-executive deputy chairman until 2009.[4]
Porter established Capital Values Group (CVG) and its subsidiary Global Student Accommodation (GSA), initially building the Urbanest student brand in Australia, central London and Ireland.[5]
Global Student Accommodation Group (GSA) acquired a 50% stake in Coral Portfolio‚ a provider of funds invested in European student accommodation and the wider property sector.[6]
Porter was key note speaker for the Property Week Student Accommodation Conference in December 2013.[7]
