Nigel Wright (English professional rugby league footballer of the 1990s and 2000s, and coach of the 2010s, playing at representative level for England, and at club level for Stanley Rangers ARLFC, Wakefield Trinity (Heritage #1023), Wigan, and Huddersfield Giants, as a Stand-off/Five-eighth, or Loose forward/Lock, i.e. number 6, or 13, and coaching at club level for Barrow Raiders.

International honours
Nigel Wright won a cap for England while at Wakefield Trinity in 1995 against France.[1]
Only eight players have ever scored drop goals for England, they are; John Keith Bridges (1), George Fairbairn (1), Bobbie Goulding (1), Sean Long (1), Martin Offiah (1), Harry Pinner (2), Alan Redfearn (1), and Nigel Wright (1).[2]
County Cup Final Appearances
Nigel Wright played Stand-off/Five-eighth and scored a conversion and a drop goal in Wakefield Trinity's 29–16 victory over Sheffield Eagles in the 1992 Yorkshire Cup final during the 1992–93 season at Elland Road, Leeds on Sunday 18 October 1992.[3]
Transfer fee
In 1993, Wigan paid Wakefield Trinity a fee of £140,000 for Nigel Wright (based on increases in average earnings, this would be approximately £278,200 in 2013),[4] however a series of injuries limited his impact at Wigan.[5]
Club career
Nigel Wright is the joint-fifth youngest player (along with Neil Fox) to make his début for Wakefield Trinity aged 16-years and 3-months in 1990.
