Oscar Frank Thornton (July 26, 1905 – January 12, 1992), also known as O. Frank Thornton, was an American politician. He served as secretary of state of South Carolina from 1950 to 1979.[1]
Life and career
[edit]Thornton attended the University of South Carolina.[2]
In 1935, Thornton was elected to the South Carolina House of Representatives,[3] representing York County, South Carolina.[4]
Thornton served as secretary of state of South Carolina from 1950 to 1979.[1]
Thornton died[3] on January 12, 1992, at the age of 86.
