Occupational Medicine is a peer-reviewed medical journal covering occupational medicine, including occupational health psychology and organizational psychology that is published eight times per year by Oxford University Press. It covers "work-related injury and illness, accident and illness prevention, health promotion, occupational disease, health education, the establishment and implementation of health and safety standards, monitoring of the work environment, and the management of recognized hazards".[1] It was established in 1948.
Journal content
In addition to its peer-reviewed original research articles and accompanying commentaries, the journal regularly includes the following sections:
- Editorials: Editorials present the view of the authors on a wide range of topics of interest to occupational physicians.
- Case reports: Structured as a short format original paper.
- Letters to the Editor: Letters which serve to clarify subjects published in previous issues of the journal or in response to original research.
- Filler articles: Short articles of interest related to the practice of occupational medicine in less than 500 words.
