Dorket Head

Dorket Head is an area located between Calverton and Arnold. At the centre is a cross roads, with Plains Road, leading to the A614/A60 and Mapperley, and Calverton Road, between Arnold and Calverton.
It is the highest place within Nottingham City itself, with the top being some 146m ASL, and has two radio masts, one owned by Central Networks, which is 40m (131ft) high, and the other which is owned by East Midland Communications (Based in Stanton Hill, Mansfield) and is 30m (100ft) high. Dorket Head Farm operating as 'Martins Farm' sells a wide range of equestrian products, from feed, bedding, supplements, large dedicated rug room, equestrian and country clothing and showjumps. In additions they manufacture a wide range of 'bespoke' items out of steel and timber for the landscape trade and sell timber, gates,wire, ironmongery & bark.
There is a Biffa waste landfill site, and a Brick Works at Dorket Head also. The Biffa Waste Landfill site is nearing completion.
Also by the Large Central Networks mast, there is Ramsdale house, which used to be a school then an old people's home, but now is being redeveloped.
It is located within the Borough of Gedling, and officially is located within Arnold.
There also is a Trig point, on the South side of the road, approximately 100 yards West of the cross-roads.
