Olivia Margarette Brown (born April 10, 1960) is an American actress.

Life and career

Brown was born in Frankfurt, West Germany, and raised in Livonia, Michigan. Her family eventually moved to California, where she graduated from Santa Monica High School.[1][2] She played Detective Trudy Joplin on Miami Vice and Vanessa Hargraves on Designing Women. Olivia also played Patricia Hamilton (recurring), on 7th Heaven, and Barbara Lee (recurring), on Moesha. Brown has acted in several films, including Throw Momma from the Train, 48 Hrs., All Tied Up, and Streets of Fire.

She guest starred in multiple episodes of Lois & Clark: The New Adventures of Superman as a psychic named Star.

Personal life

Olivia was married to Mykelti Williamson for two years, from 1983 until their divorce in 1985. Her brother is Steve Brown, who played for the Houston Oilers of the NFL during the late 1980s.

She is currently married to James Okonkwo, with whom she has two children.
