Ornina (Full name: Ornanshi Lnini Zaza) was a singer of Ishtar temple in kingdom of Mari.[1]

Background

Ornina was one of oldest talented women who excelled in singing, playing music and dancing. Furthermore, she was a prominent figure during the reign of the strong king Iblul-Il. A statue which dates back to c. 3500 BC shows her siting on a decorated pillow wearing a fringed dress.[2]
