Francisco "Pancho" Amat (born 1950, Cuba) is a Cuban musician specialized in tres, a plucked instrument. He founded the group Manguaré in 1971 and elevated tres-playing to a new level by applying theory and technique gleaned from jazz. Currently, he is the band leader of "El cabildo del son".
