Parley's Trail is an east-west cycling and pedestrian greenway in the Salt Lake City region of Utah, United States. The route serves as the primary connector between the 40-mile north-south (64 km) Jordan River Parkway to the west and the Bonneville Shoreline Trail to the east -- which itself links with numerous other trails in the forested Wasatch Mountains.[1] The trail parallels the S Line streetcar though the neighborhoods of South Salt Lake and Sugar House before running along Interstate 80. After years of planning and citizen advocacy, 5.2 mi (8.4km) out of approximately 8 mi (13km) have been fully separated from road traffic.[2] Another 1.2 mi (1.9km) of separation including bridge and tunnel work is actively being conducted by the Utah Department of Transportation with an expected finish of summer of 2017.[3] In gaps where the path isn't fully separated from cars, the trail has been temporarily routed on sidewalks and on-street bike lanes.
