Patricia Bragg (née Pendleton; April 29, 1929) is an American businesswoman, author, and health consultant who is the nominal head of Bragg Live Food Products and Books and Chairperson of the Bragg Health Institute.[1][2][3][4]

Early years

The daughter of Harry Clay Pendleton (1874-1961), a building contractor, and Nettie (née Coward) Deacon Pendleton (1898-1964), she was raised in Piedmont, California, attending both grammar school and high school there, graduating from the Mary Wallace School, a private Piedmont high school for girls, in June 1947. (Oakland Tribune, June 7, 1947, "Gala Occasion For Young Set".) Her parents had divorced on October 1, 1938 (Alameda County, CA Action No. 135796) after a separation of several years.

After high school, she attended the University of California, Berkeley for two years (Oakland Tribune, September 8, 1954, "Braggs Leave For L. A. Home"), but did not graduate (Cal-Berkeley Alumni database), although in an interview with Marilyn McMahon, staff writer, published in the Santa Barbara News-Press on March 8, 2011, Bragg claimed she graduated from that institution with a "bachelor's degree in biochemistry". In the same interview, Bragg stated that her mother died at age 45 in an automobile accident, which conflicts with both Nettie Pendleton's Oakland Tribune obituary of July 30, 1964 ("Mrs. Pendleton, whose death followed a brief illness, is survived by a daughter, Patricia Pendleton Bragg, of Hollywood; and two sons, Harry C. Pendleton, Jr., of Oakland, and Herbert Coward Deacon...." [son by a prior marriage]), and her death certificate, which documents her cause of death as "Cerebral Metastasis due to Carcinoma L [left] Lung" on July 29, 1964 at age 65. (State of California Certificate of Death ?-0860ll).

On April 19, 1952, Patricia Pendleton and Robert E. Bragg (1922-1993) were married at the First Presbyterian Church of Phoenix, Phoenix, Arizona, (Maricopa County, AZ Recorder Book 123, Page 602). They later divorced in 1957 in Los Angeles County, California. Prior to & following their divorce proceedings. Bragg assisted her former father-in-law, Paul C. Bragg, with his health crusades, and later appeared on his "Health & Happiness" TV show, which ran from September 1959 to an unknown date on Channel 9, KHJ-TV, in the Los Angeles, CA area. She also is the attributed co-author of many of the later Bragg health books.

Second marriage

On March 31, 1976, Patricia Bragg, stating her father's name as "Paul C. Bragg" and her mother's maiden name as "Nettie Coward", her birth date as "April 29, 1946", her age as "30", and that this was her "first marriage" on the Application for Marriage License,[5] married James Cameron Gilroy (1954-1977) in Tujunga, California. They divorced 5 months later, and Gilroy died the following July 1, 1977 at the age 22 under unknown circumstances. His Death Certificate, in which his mother was stated as "informant", gave his last occupation as "Sales Mgr....Live Foods...Health Vitamins".[6]
