Paul Louis Mercanton (1876–1963) was a Swiss meteorologist, glaciologist and Arctic explorer. He was a member of Arctic expeditions to Spitsbergen (1910), Greenland (1912-1913) and Jan Mayen (1921 and 1929). Mercantonfjellet, a mountain area at Spitsbergen, Svalbard, is named after Mercanton.[1][2]
