Paul Westcott (born April 22, 1984) is an American radio host, political commentator, and blogger. He currently hosts the Paul Westcott Show on WTAG 580 AM & 94.9 FM and Charter TV3 . He continues to host his nationally syndicated radio show, The Paul Westcott Show on iHeartRadio, airing throughout the United States on Radio America and is now syndicated by Clear Channel's iHeartRadio.[1] He is a frequent guest on Fox News Channel, MSNBC, CNBC, Fox Business, CNN, and CNN Headline News, commenting on politics.

Early life and education

Westcott born to David and Paula Westcott on April 22, 1984. He has a younger sister, Diana Westcott. He went to Mount Kisco Elementary School and Fox Lane High school. Westcott got into radio when he started working at WFUV at Fordham University where he anchored, reported and produced local news for the NPR Affiliate. Upon graduating (May 2006) he started earning a master's degree in Political science while working for NBC News in New York. He graduate from Fordham University's Graduate School of Arts and Sciences in (May 2008).

Career

Westcott started as a New York-based Assignment Editor and Researcher for NBC News, covering breaking and planned events on the network's news desk. During his time at NBC Westcott worked for the national desk covering domestic news and the International Desk covering the world and working with NBC News' many international bureaus. Prior to leaving, Westcott covered the 2008 President race from the network's political desk.

Westcott started his career at Clear Channel Radio in 2008 as a National Correspondent for the company's news/talk stations and digital news/political editor for the company's 850+ station websites. After the election of Barack Obama, Westcott was asked to create a channel for iheartradio [2] Clear Channel's digital platform specifically covering Washington and the President. The White House Brief launched in May 2009 as short news loop to grow into a two-hour show with a massive digital reach [3]

The White House Brief with Paul Westcott name came about in August 2009 when the channel moved beyond a news loop. Since the show's inception Westcott has grown the show's listener base and length of the program. In the beginning of 2014 the channel had its third iteration now being called The Paul Westcott Show on iHeartRadio [4] on iHeartRadio and is syndicated nationally through Clear Channel Radio's vast network of news/talk stations. Prior to moving to WTAG Westcott hosted mornings on WGIR (AM) & 96.7 the Wave WQSO .

Westcott maintains a role with Clear Channel Radio's digital properties as a political news editor overseeing all political news content and serves as an on-air correspondent on Clear Channel's network of stations . In addition to his digital and radio background he is also a pundit, primarily for Fox News Channel, Fox Business Network and FoxNews.com but he has also appeared on various cable and broadcast outlets.[5]
