Perez Chapel International is an evangelical, Charismatic Christian church.[1] It was founded by bishop Charles Agyinasare[2] and is headquartered in Accra, Ghana in Dzorwulu.[2][3] The church has over 400 local branches in Ghana (including 16 in Accra) and has branches in 16 countries across the world.[4] The Church's name "Perez" was taken from biblical "breakthrough".[3]

The main auditorium of the church, The Perez Dome, has a seating capacity of 14,000 and is regarded as the largest auditorium in Ghana,[4] being about 10 times the capacity of the main hall of the Accra International Conference Centre and the National Theatre.[3] The roof has a span of 60-meters.[5] The President of Ghana, John Dramani Mahama, on his visit described the place of worship as "one of the Seven Wonders of Ghana".[3][6]

The church auditorium has hosted various international preachers and musicians, including Morris Cerullo, Don Moen, Kirk Franklin.[3]

The Church owns and operates Precious TV a private Christian television station.[7]

Education

The Church runs the Perez University College is a co-ed Christian University located in Gomoa Pomadze in the Central region of Ghana. It was formerly known as the Pan African Christian University College.[8] It was the first private university to be established in the Central region.[8]

Controversies

The Kirk Franklin show attracting such amount of audience that exceeded the 14,000-capacity dome. The incapability of thousands of people to enter the place received criticism against the organisers, Multimedia Group, and the church.[3]
