Peter George Whiteman QC (born 8 August 1942) is a British barrister, professor and author.

Whiteman has been a deputy high court judge since 1994, and professor of law at the University of Virginia since 1980, and a visiting professor at the University of California Berkeley since 1980.[1]

Whiteman was married to the food writer Kate Whiteman until her death in a car accident in 2009.[2] She was born Katherine Ellenbogen, the daughter of Gershon Ellenbogen, a British barrister, author and Liberal Party politician, and his wife Eileen Alexander.
