Photon Engineering LLC is a consulting and software development firm based in Tucson, best known for Fred Optical Engineering Software (FRED), a commercial 3D CAD program.
Photon Engineering, made popular for their creation, maintenance, and publishing of their FRED software,[1] also offers professional optical engineering consulting services as well as training and support courses for their FRED software. They have been assigned to and completed projects for a variety of large corporations around the world.
Consulting
A primary business of Photon Engineering is their consulting services, which they offer to other corporations worldwide to complete optical designs for projects.[2]
Fred Software
Photon Engineering created the FRED Optical Engineering Software, which uses raytracing to simulate light propegation through optomechanical systems. The company also regularly hosts tutorials and training sessions regularly throughout the calendar year.[3]
