Physiological Reviews is a journal published quarterly by the American Physiological Society. Physiological Reviews provides state of the art coverage[citation needed] of timely issues[citation needed] in the physiological and biomedical sciences. It appeals to physiologists, neuroscientists, cell biologists, biophysicists, and clinicians with special interest in pathophysiology.[citation needed] Topics are covered in a broad and comprehensive manner.[citation needed] These articles are very useful in teaching and research[citation needed] as they provide interesting, clearly written updates on important new developments.[citation needed] The editor in chief of the journal is Dennis Brown, Professor of Medicine at Harvard Medical School and Director of the Program in Membrane Biology at the Massachusetts General Hospital.

Physiological Reviews is a highly read and cited journal[citation needed] with an impact factor index of 30.174, ranking it in 5th place among all biomedical scientific journals in the World.[citation needed] More details about the journal can be found on its website at http://www.the-aps.org/publications/prv/index.htm.[citation needed]
