Piet Kuiper

Pieter Jan Cornelis "Piet" Kuiper (born 30 July 1934)[1] is a Dutch botanist. He was professor of plant physiology at the University of Groningen from 1974 to 1999.[1]

Kuiper was born in Hoorn. He obtained his PhD in 1961 at the Landbouwhogeschool in Wageningen.[1] Kuiper has helped doctors in determining species of mushrooms in poisoning cases.[2]

Kuiper was elected a member of the Royal Netherlands Academy of Arts and Sciences in 1983.[3]
