Ponta do Lobo is the eastern point of the island of Santiago, Cape Verde inside the municipality of São Domingos. It is about 2 km northeast of the nearest village, Vale da Custa and southeast of Achada Baleia and is northeast of the capital Praia. It has a small headland. Its length is about 500 meters long east to west and its width is about 200 meters. To the north is Porto Lobo and its bay, there just 100 meters is the 15th parallel north, also further north is the village of Moia Moia.

Its origin of the name is related to the wolves surrounding the area. Cape Verde does not have large wild animals, not even wolves, as there are no wolves in the tropics. The other name origin may be related to a lobe.

About 10 km immediately to the east has a depth of 1,000 meters and that portion forms a part of the Cape Verde Rise. 20–30 km north has the deepest portion being about 3,000 meters below sea level.

During the Ice Age, the point then unnamed was about a kilometer east. Around it has a dirt road.

The island along with the point was first discovered by António da Noli in 1460 and may be the first land feature to be known. Before the eastern part was settled around the early 16th century, shrubs dominated the area its geography of that time is unknown.

The point and its port were mentioned the 1747 French/Dutch map by Jacques Nicolas Bellin.[1]
