Power Surge is a shoot-the-chutes water attraction designed by Intamin located at Six Flags Fiesta Texas in San Antonio, Texas that opened with the park in March 1992.[1]
Ride
Power Surge has one lift hill and a huge splash zone to get riders soaked. It is located in the Rockville section of the park.[1] The water ride is open from opening day to Fright Fest.
Once aboard, the boat will take you up a 50 feet (15 m) lift hill, which then, it is at a half-circle near the quarry wall that surrounds the park. Once the boat exits the half-circle, it dives down to the bottom that generates a huge artificial wave to soak most of the riders,[2] leading to the station.
Bridge
After exiting the ride, east of the station is the bridge to the ride and the main land. For extreme soak experience, you can stay at the bridge for the drop at the bottom of the hill. The wave will affect everyone on the bridge will great force (the farther out on the sides, the greater the force). This is optional, you can skip this if you can run as fast as you can.
Trivia
Power Surge was featured in the 1992 movie, Blank Check, where Preston Waters (Brian Bonsall) watches the boat coming down the drop while on the bridge, then got soaked with his cotton candy by the boat splashing down.[3]
