The '''Prissani''' or '''Pyritzans''' ({{langx|pl|Pyrzyczanie}}) were a [[Pomerania during the Early Middle Ages|medieval tribe in Pomerania]]. In the late 10th century, the [[Piast Poland|Polish dukes]] [[Mieszko I]] and [[Bolesław I Chrobry]] subdued parts of [[Pomerania]], but did not succeed to subdue the lower [[Oder]] region.<ref name=Piskorski31>Jan M Piskorski, Pommern im Wandel der Zeiten, p.31, {{ISBN|83-906184-8-6}} {{OCLC|43087092}}</ref> In 1121/22, the [[Piast Poland|Polish duke]] [[Bolesław III Wrymouth]] conquered the area along with the [[Duchy of Pomerania]] under [[Wartislaw I, Duke of Pomerania|Wartislaw I]].<ref name=Piskorski36>Jan M Piskorski, Pommern im Wandel der Zeiten, p.36, {{ISBN|83-906184-8-6}} {{OCLC|43087092}}</ref> The tribe was subsequently [[Conversion of Pomerania|Christianized]], missionary [[Otto of Bamberg]] celebrated the first mass baptism in [[Pyrzyce]].<ref name=Piskorski36/> A separate tribal identity, if upheld so far, vanished when it was integrated in the [[Duchy of Pomerania]].
