The Proceedings of the IEEE is a peer-reviewed scientific journal published by the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE). The journal focuses on electrical engineering and computer science.

In ISI Journal Citation Reports, the Proceedings of the IEEE has one of the highest impact factors in the field of electrical engineering.[1]

History

The history of the journal dates back to 1913, when the Institute of Radio Engineers (IRE) launched its official publication, the Proceedings of the IRE. Alfred Norton Goldsmith was the Editor of the Proceedings of the IRE for the first 42 years.[2]

When IEEE was formed in 1963 as a merger of IRE and American Institute of Electrical Engineers, the Proceedings of the IRE changed its name to the Proceedings of the IEEE.
