Pterygotioidea is an extinct superfamily of Palaeozoic eurypterids, and includes the family Pterygotidae together with the more basal genera Hughmilleria, Herefordopterus and Slimonia.[1] A total of around 54 species in 9 genera are included in the superfamily.[2]
