The R544 is a Regional Route in South Africa. Its northern terminus is the R573 between KwaMhlanga and Siyabuswa in Mpumalanga. It heads south-east, crossing the R25. After doing so, it passes through a spur of Gauteng before returning to Mpumalanga. It next comes to the city of Witbank, where it is co-signed with the intersecting R555, before crossing the N4 and N12 highways before continuing in a south-south-easterly direction. It intersects with the southern terminus of the R575 and the western terminus of the R542 at a four-way intersection with the R547, you must turn left (from the north) to continue on the R544. It ends shortly after at an intersection with the R35, near Bethal.
