TXI plant in Midlothian

Its plant on the north side of Midlothian, Texas is about 22 miles south of downtown Dallas; is the largest cement plant in the country; is permitted as a Treatment, Storage and Disposal Facility (TSDF) of hazardous waste under the Resource Conservation and Recovery Act; and is largest diposer of hazardous waste in Texas and probably the largest in the nation. Hazardous waste is shipped to the plant from several states to be burned in the kilns. Environmental critics allege that little of the toxins are actually eliminated, but are spewed into the air as pollutants.
