Ramnogaster is a small genus of sprats found only in South America. There are currently two species in this genus.

- Ramnogaster arcuata (Jenyns, 1842) (Jenyns's sprat)
- Ramnogaster melanostoma (C. H. Eigenmann, 1907) (Uruguay river sprat)
