The station Rathaus is an underground station in Cologne, Germany. It lies under the Alter Markt (de) and is named by the Rathaus (City hall).

History

The construction of the station started eight years ago, in conjunction with the Stadtbahn's extension project called North-South tunnel (Nord-Süd-Stadtbahn, NSS). The station was opened on 9 December 2012. Until opening of the station at Heumarkt on 15 December 2013, Rathaus was a line 5 terminal station.

Services

When the Nord-Süd-Stadtbahn is completed, Rathaus will also be served by line 16.
