Read (first name and dates unknown) was an English first-class cricketer who made a single appearance for All-England against the Hambledon Club at the Artillery Ground in 1773.[1] Blake made one known first-class appearance, scoring 13 runs in his only innings. He did not bowl.[1][2]

As Read had established his reputation by 1773, he must have been active for some years previously and his career probably began in the 1760s. Very few players were mentioned by name in contemporary reports and there are no other references to Read.
