Revoltech is an action figure line from the Japanese company Kaiyodo. "Revoltech" is a portmanteau for "Revolver Technology," in reference to the unique "Revolver Joint" articulation which all of the figures utilize. This gives the figures a wide range of motion and stability, allowing for many dynamic and varied poses.

The subject matter for the Revoltech line can be broadly split into four categories—Real Robot, Super Robot, Humanoid and Creature. Thus far, robots and characters from anime, video games, manga, film and television have been covered. <!-- Image with unknown copyright status removed: [[Image:Revoltechgl.jpg|thumb|150px|right|Revoltech Gurren Lagann promo art. === Yamaguchi Series ===
The Revoltech Yamaguchi series is named for the sculptor of the figures, Katsuhisa Yamaguchi. Beginning in May of 2006 with the release of the first three figures, there continued to be two new figures released most months in the numbered mainline series until November 2008. At that time, the Yamaguchi line began a temporary hiatus. The series would later resume in June 2009 following a "Reboot," with Yamaguchi's continued involvement.

2009 Reboot
The current iteration of the Revoltech Yamaguchi series began in June 2009 with a "Reboot," resuming after a hiatus from November of the previous year. The series continues to contain both robot and character figures, much the same as its predecessor. Likewise, the numbering continues from the previous releases.

Limited Editions
There have also been some limited edition, unnumbered figures based on repaints of main-line Revoltech figures.

2G (2nd Generation)
Kaiyodo has also introduced a separate, unnumbered line of Revoltech figures known as "2G," or 2nd Generation.

Extra
A new Revoltech companion line dubbed "Extra" has been made for additional items and weapons for certain figures.

Mini Revoltech
Kaiyodo has also started its Miniature Revoltech line.

Fräulein
This Revoltech sub-line, known as "Fräulein", which means "little miss" or "young lady" in German, is a human female-themed line.

Revoltech Fräulein 3.0
Revoltech has recently announced a new line of Fräulein figures in line with their Revoltech 3.0 'REBOOT'. The line had its debut on February 1, 2009. The first wave of figures includes characters from the anime The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya.

Hokuto No Ken
The Revoltech Hokuto No Ken Revolutionline, based on the manga Hokuto no Ken (or Fist of the North Star in English) was first released on September 2008.

Street Fighter
The Revoltech Street Fighter Online: Mouse Generation series of figures debuts on October 15, 2008.

Assemble Borg
Kaiyodo, along with Yasuhiro Nightow's Toy Tribe, has also developed Assemble Borg, a Revoltech original line. This line was presented at the First Revoltech Expo on December 1, 2007 at the Tokyo Anime Center in Japan. It's designed for the consumer to be able to use its parts to build their own Revoltech cyborgs. This line requires some skill to create unique complex figures. The manufacturer provides assembly "recipes" as a starting point on the product's official site.

Revoltech Queen's Blade
This line is expected to be launched in May 2009.

Revoltech SFX
First teased in 2008, the Revoltech SFX line features iconic characters from Japanese and American film and television. The series is expected to reach retail in early 2010.

Accessories
To help aid with Revoltech joint manipulation, Kaiyodo has released the following items that have so far only been accessible at the Kaiyodo store in Japan:
