Rhys James (born c.1991)[1] is an English stand-up comedian.

James studied politics and international relations at Manchester University, starting his stand up career in 2009 while still a student.[2]

He has appeared on Mock the Week, Russell Howard's Stand Up Central, @elevenish, Virtually Famous and Sweat the Small Stuff. In 2010 he won the Charlie Hartill Special Reserve at the Edinburgh Fringe and was a finalist at the Laughing Boy New Act Competition.[1][3][4][5][6][7][8]

His live shows include Remains, in which he pursues respect as someone who has never struggled. [2][9] James uploaded the full show to YouTube in July 2016.

James cites Louie C.K., Jimmy Carr, and Lee Mack as his main influences.[2]
