Ribeira Afonso is a village on the eastern coast of São Tomé Island in São Tomé and Príncipe. Its population is 1,621 (2008 est.).[1]

The settlement is named after a nearby stream which flows into the town. It empties into the gulf between Praia da Colónia Açoriana and Praia do Morrão. The area of Colónia Açoriana, its first inhabitants came from Portugal's Azores Islands in the North Atlantic, give its name to the other settlement and the beach.
