Richard Fielder (cricketer)
Appearance
Richard Fielder (born 1758 in East Malling, Kent; died 1826 in Gravesend, Kent) was an English professional cricketer who made 20 known appearances in first-class cricket matches between 1790 and 1801.
Career
He was mainly associated with Kent but also represented Surrey and All-England. He was noted as "a very fine field and catch".[1]
Personal life
Fielder was a horse trainer who, in 1792, eloped with a Miss Cage, of Milgate, near Maidstone. Apparently she was one of his riding pupils. Afterwards they kept the Woolpack Inn, near Tenterden.[1]
