Robert Douglas (c. 1703 – 30 April 1745) of St Ola, Orkney was a Scottish soldier and politician.
The third son of George Douglas, 13th Earl of Morton, he joined the British Army in 1721 as an ensign in the 31st Foot, rising to the rank of Colonel in 1743, when he also became aide-de-camp to King George II.[1]
When his father succeeded to the peerage in 1730, Robert was elected in his place as the Member of Parliament (MP) for Orkney and Shetland. He held the seat until his death in 1745,[2] in the Battle of Fontenoy.[1]
